Biography :I am a native, English-speaking teacher, certified to Teach English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL/ESL) and English writing and literature (ELA). My combined English teaching experience is 20 years. I have been teaching ESL for 13 years, both here in the USA and abroad (Japan and Colombia, South America). During this time, I have been working with students of all ages, English levels and with quite a few nationalities. In Japan, I worked with kindergartners to senior-level executives at the Toshiba Corporation’s headquarters in Kitakami City, Iwate-ken. In Bogota, I taught Spanish-speaking, business professionals from a wide array of industries, including multinational pharmaceuticals; accounting firms; oil and gas; hospitality and tourism and government employees. Right now, I am working with students from India, China, Nigeria, Algeria, Lebanon, Thailand and Saudi Arabia. Some of these students live throughout the United States and others live outside of the country. Before deciding to work in the ESL industry, I taught English writing and literature at a public, magnet, high school for gifted and talented American students at Dr. Ronald McNair Academic High School in downtown, Jersey City. On an average day, I am scheduling my time between my in-person and online classes.
In the next three to five years, I would like to continue to grow in exposure, and credit my success to persistence, determination and the passion I have for my craft. I am looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member of the Worldwide Association of Female Professionals.
